There’s something they try to hammer in to you at art school (though often times it doesn’t appear to work) which is, don’t be afraid to throw away your work.  Don’t be afraid to erase what you’ve been working on for 10 hours in order to start again.  Don’t be tied to the work you’ve completed just because you’ve completed something.  Erase, start again, do it again, iterate, start over again.

There’s so much detail in this video that you can’t see because its out of focus or goes by too fast.  Fantastic.  You don’t NEED to see that detail, but its important that its there.  Stop motion paper cutting is the tool they used to convey their story.  Obviously its an important medium choice, but the director chose to enhance the mood instead of display the work that was being done.

I throw so much stuff away, and my work is better off for it.
